WARDS is a registered non-governmental organization in Nigeria committed to empowering women, youth, and vulnerable populations through education, skills acquisition, social inclusion, and sustainable development initiatives.

We work with communities to restore dignity, build self-reliance, and create long-term opportunities for individuals affected by poverty, displacement, insecurity, and social exclusion.

Together, we believe every woman and child deserves hope, opportunity, and a better future.

Our Mission

To empower women, youth, and vulnerable populations through education, skills development, advocacy, welfare support, and strategic partnerships that promote dignity, equality, and sustainable livelihoods.

Our Aims & Objectives

  • To support self-reliance and sustainable economic development among women and youth through skills acquisition and entrepreneurship training programmes.

  • To promote access to quality education for out-of-school children through scholarships, mentorship, vocational training, and skills development.

  • To enhance the well-being and social inclusion of widows, orphans, and vulnerable women through empowerment schemes, counselling, and welfare interventions.

  • To support sensitization and campaigns on gender equality, women’s leadership participation, and sustainable livelihoods.

  • To promote public healthcare, nutrition, and hygiene awareness campaigns targeted at children, mothers, and other vulnerable groups.

  • To collaborate and partner with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private individuals in providing essential services, relief materials, rehabilitation, and psychosocial support to communities affected by insecurity, natural disasters, and socio-economic challenges.

Empowerment Programme

This programme focuses on equipping women and youth with practical, income-generating skills that promote self-reliance and economic independence.

Education & Child Development

We provide educational support through scholarships, learning materials, vocational and technical training, as well as mentorship and life-skills development.

Welfare & Rehabilitation Services

This programme supports widows, orphans, destitute women, and other vulnerable individuals through targeted welfare and rehabilitation services.

Gender Equality & Advocacy

Through advocacy and sensitization activities, WARDS promotes gender equality and women’s active participation in leadership and community development.

Health, Nutrition & Hygiene

Our Health, Nutrition, and Hygiene programme focuses on improving community health outcomes, especially for children, mothers, and other vulnerable groups.

Emergency Response & Community Support

WARDS responds to humanitarian needs by supporting communities affected by conflict, insecurity, natural disasters, and socio-economic challenges.
